Well well it was 10.30 Pm yesterday that I felt the need to remove some dust from my desktop after a year of inactivity. So I dissembled it and made it all nice and clean.

Now as I start assembling it again my sister comes questioningly towards me stares for a little and asks; oh, is it broken?

No of course not! I answer. Its perfectly fine, I'm just de-dusting it ^^

5 min later I plug the cord, turn it on.

Ok I think this shall be a quicky fix.

So I smack in the vista disc, but no.

This cannot be repaired, so it suggests me to do a system restore. And what a wonderful tool this is, when I've not removed all backups the night before to clean up some space.

So then I move onto hooking some other hard-drives into it to run another OS so I can get some data out of there. And then this drive bites the dust. So I'm stuck with a faulty drive, one crashed and a vista disc that can't help for shit.

Now I'm stuck and need some way to get this going. So I grab a thinking beer and cool down for a few hours.

Then along comes the idea that I can use DOS which I've got on one of my OLD floppy discs thats been dusting for 10 years. I hook up the drive and smack this baby right in, the old dusty babe does what its supposed to and I copy my data over to the backup drive I've got internally. I'm now formatting the crashed one, and installing a clean windows 7 on it. And hope things works out in the end.

All thats left now is to do a full image recovery of the faulty one. As it will die off soon.
I'm considering making a nerdy gadget soon. I've got 5 dead drives now and I feel like making a harddrive surround system, youtube this if you have no idea what I'm talking about. Its fun!

Now if you've managed to stick with my through this then I'd be honored to call you a fellow geek. Maybe not a huge one, but at least you had the interest to finish it. (or just had nothing better to do.) Point is; never delete backups, never work on the hardware without a backup plan, don't throw old hardware that works(it might come handy) stay cool, and when your sister asks if its broken, it will go down the shitter.
